The Fifth Estate has helped to shift businesses' thinking about waste from problem to opportunity.
The Fifth Estate has worked with a number of significant participants in the Australian and global waste management and recycling business including:
- conceiving and successfully implementing the first world-scale waste bioreactor to convert residual waste to methane for energy production,
- waste procurement strategy for a green waste co-generation facility,
- scoping and implementing energy-from-waste developments.
Projects such as this require the full suite of project development skills:
- strategy,
- political advocacy,
- supply analysis and procurement,
- community consultation,
- regulatory permitting,
- transport logistics, and
- technology application.
We have also worked with clients to develop materials recovery facilities and remanufacturing plants for recycled goods. While some of these tasks concern manufacturing disciples, they usually involve a high degree of engagement with governments, communities and the workforce to engender new ways of thinking about resources.
Water recycling projects also feature in our successful portfolio, including urban and industrial waste re-use, desalination and water efficiency innovation & installations.
